More about Terry

Being born in Wyoming it is only natural that Terry loves to hunt, fish, hike, bike, ski and enjoy the outdoors. Learning to ski at the age of five led Terry to work and live in Jackson Hole for twenty years where his career in the Ski and Ropeway industry started. Having been directly responsible for maintaining the Jackson Hole Aerial Tramway during the latter years provided a solid background for Terry to take a position at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in 1996. Where plans had already begun to replace the original Von Roll Tramway with North America's first "Rotair" Reversible Tramway System.

Moving to Palm Springs was not only an exciting adventure it also included a major climatic and cultural adjustment. From 50 degree below zero winters to 120 degree summers presented a challenge. Now nearly 20 years later, Terry, his wife, and 2 boys (chocolate labs) reside in Big Bear City, CA a very nice compromise.

From the very beginning, Terry took an interest in wire rope and as time went on he learned to rig, splice, and inspect wire rope while continually developing his technical skills and abilities in operating and maintaining ropeway systems.

Today, Terry shares his experience, knowledge, and skills by offering services through Above & Beyond, Inc. and by contributing to the industry in teaching at association conferences, being a member of the ASC B77.1 Standards Committee, and as an officer of OITAF-NACS an organization for the study and advancement of transportation by wire rope.
